Can Small Pets Eat Grapes (Seedless Red/Green)?
Grapes are toxic to small pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats. The same unidentified nephrotoxin that kills dogs can cause acute kidney failure in small mammals, particularly in sensitive individuals. Additionally, the high sugar content disrupts the delicate hindgut flora of herbivores, leading to enterotoxemia and fatal bloat. Even a tiny piece can trigger a cascade of gastrointestinal and renal damage. Grapes should never appear in a small animal's diet.
