Can Birds Eat Peanut Butter (No Xylitol)?
Peanut butter without added salt, sugar, or xylitol is a safe, calorie-dense treat for larger parrots and many birds, offering healthy fats and protein. The creamy texture can be smeared on branches or inside foraging toys to encourage natural exploration and beak exercise. However, its stickiness may pose a minor risk of crop impaction if fed in large globs, so it should always be spread thinly. As with all nuts, very small birds may struggle with the fat content, making this best reserved for macaws, cockatoos, and African greys in careful portions.
